2015 November 1 Announcements

Our monthly collection for November is for the Eureka AC Home.
Thanks to the Home auxiliary couples for a wonderful evening at the Home benefit dinner last night. Also a special thanks to all who attended and donated funds. Almost $17,000 was raised.
The Choir Soup Supper was held last Sunday at the Fellowship Hall. It was a very nice evening of song and fellowship. Thanks to all who helped with the evening and especially thanks to the Young Group for serving the meal and helping with clean up.
The Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka has several CNA openings on all three shifts at this time.  Please consider supporting the Home in their Mission of “Providing Loving Care in the Spirit of Christ”.
Help is needed at the Eureka Food Pantry to unload trucks this Tuesday at 12:30pm. Please see Sis. Dawn Maloney if you have any questions.
We have a slight change of plans this week and plan to have our monthly Bible Study on Wednesday evening. Bro. Art Mueller from Belvidere will be here. His topic will be “the Ephesians”.
ACTIVE/scripture memory will meet this Wednesday evening.
Our Sunday Morning Adult bible study will be held November 8th, 15th 22nd and the 29th. Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor.
There will be a double church shower for Sis. Jamie Wiegand & Bro. Will Rokey and Jaycee Hartman & Pete Hokestra on Saturday, Nov. 14. It will be a walk-through from 9-10:30 at the Fellowship Hall. Please bring $5, a grocery item and a recipe for each couple. If you have questions call Sis. Pat Plattner or Sis.Dort Leman.
The Apostolic Christian World Relief benefit auction for Hospital Lumiere is planned for Friday, November 13 at Five Points in Washington. The food court and silent auction start at 4:30. The live auction begins at 7:00.  For more information, or to donate an item or service, see the announcement on the church bulletin board or visit the World Relief website. Please see Bro. Greg and Sis. Jill Wagner if you have any questions.
Fellowship Hall Project Volunteer Reminder........the Building committee last week announced the need for volunteers this coming Saturday to remove shingles and apply underlayment to all the remaining roof surface.  The following week starting November 9 we will be shingling for several days.  We need 40 volunteers on Saturday, November 7 and 10 or more each day during the week of November 9.  We plan to start Saturday at 7:00am.  Coffee, rolls and breakfast pizza will be available shortly before we start and lunch will be provided. We hope to finish by early afternoon. Volunteers should bring a hammer, gloves and a short straight shovel if you have them and wear appropriate working shoes. We certainly encourage our high school young men to participate, but will need their parent's signature on our Volunteer Liability Release form for those under 18. Please text Bro. Denny Blunier at 309-256-8263 or Mark Rocke at 309-696-9431 if you are able to participate so we can appropriately plan.  This effort will most likely be our largest single day volunteer opportunity. Witnessing the many willing workers and lunch providers is a humbling, rewarding opportunity for all involved. Thank you again, and may God continue to bless this project and our congregation.
