2016 September 18 Announcements
Our September collection is for Hospital Lumiere down in Haiti. As you know Bro. Kurt and Sis. Joan Plattner serve at the Hospital. Please consider giving to this very worthy cause during our special collection in September.
Many of you were at El Paso Healthcare last evening along with your children. It was a huge blessing. Thanks to all of you for your loving deeds of kindness that are done on a regular basis. May the Lord be your rewarder.
There is a sign-up sheet for helping at the west ramp doors on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evenings. If you would be willing to help please add your name to the list.
We plan to have testimonies this Friday, September 23rd starting at 7pm. Baptisms will be Sunday the 25th for Jacob, Brock and Braden Wiegand. Bro. Trent Meiss plans to be with us. The sign-up sheets will be out for food and waitresses for the baptism. The group helping this time will be group 2. If anyone has a question please see Sis. Paul Hartman. Due to the testimonies being on Friday night we are canceling Church and ACTIVE this Wednesday evening.
Next Saturday, September 24th, the Roanoke church will be a hosting a program by the Covenant Chamber Choir, small group of brethren from the states of Ohio, Indiana, & Michigan. Congregational singing will begin at 7:00, followed by a program of songs by the choir. We are extending an invitation to area churches to join us, and there will be a snack following the singing. Please feel free to share this with your congregation. A church full of brethren praising God in song would be blessed evening.
Please continue to pray for Bro. Alfred Keiser as he is still in OSF recovering from surgery. With Bro. Alfred Kieser still being in the hospital, Sis. Marie needs rides to OSF Monday through Wednesday of this week to be with him. Drivers are needed to pick up Sis. Marie between 8:00 and 8:30 and take her to OSF. Then someone needs to pick her up at 7:00 p.m. to take her home. More detailed information and directions to OSF are available from Sis. The annual Eureka Home Benefit Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available at the Home office starting Sept. 29th. The Home's mission is "Providing loving care in the Spirit of Christ". We encourage all ages to come and support the evening.
Bro. Roger Gerber's mother, Berdina Gerber passed away on Friday night. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka. Visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Please keep the Gerber family in your prayers.
