We will be collecting for the Gateway Woods Children’s Home for the month of August. As you know many lives are touched by this ministry.
There are pie pans left over from our VBS pie night. They are in the women’s coatroom.
100 filled backpacks were donated to Hearthouse for Woodford County youth. The price of each backpack ranges from $34 for high school students to $58 for an eighth grader. We just want to let you know that funds you donate to the charity and local outreach are being used to help others in this way. Next year, we plan to have the children help with backpack filling process.
Free Bible Now is an organization run by our college young groups dedicated to sharing God's Word on campuses through the distribution of free Bibles. Our motto is "the Truth in any language," meaning whatever your native language is, we will do our best to get you a Bible in that language. Not only that, but we also strive to build relationships with everyone we give Bibles to, so when we give people Bibles, we offer to have someone contact them so they can pray with them, answer questions, walk them through how to read the Bible, etc... There will be a fundraiser is at Morton Culver's (121 E. Courtland), This Tuesday August 15th, from 5pm-8pm. A portion of the profits made from 5:00pm-8:00pm will be donated to FreeBibleNow.

The intent is for these to facilitate prayer and relational support for our missionaries. Anyone is welcome to take one and they are in the back hall.

If you are interested in viewing the slide show from the Bible Class's trip to Jamaica that was shown on Wednesday evening you can see it here. The slide show will provide you with visual snapshots of what we did that week, but we encourage each of you in our church family to visit one on one with any of the Bible Class students to learn more about what you can't see in the pictures. You can ask them about what they thought, felt, and learned from their experiences on the trip and they would be glad to share with you! May God bless each of you for your love, support, and prayers. Thank you!
Wilfrid Remonvil, the director of Loving Shepherd Ministries’ Homes of Hope in Haiti, will be visiting the area to share first hand stories of what life is like for vulnerable children in his country and how God is rescuing and redeeming these children for His glory. Wilfrid is a respected Haitian pastor who is making the trip all the way from Haiti because he wants to share a Haitian perspective on the children living there and how they are being helped. Wilfrid will be speaking at 7PM at the 5 Points Washington on Thursday, August 24. Authentic Haitian food will be available to sample and enjoy and the whole family is welcome!
