2017 October 15 Announcements

Our October collection is for Hospital Lumiere in Haiti.  It takes a large sum of money to maintain a 120-bed hospital in Haiti.  By the grace of God, the Haitians have asked our Apostolic Christian Church and the World Relief Committee to oversee & manage this hospital.  What a blessing it’s been. As you know Bro. Kurt and Sis. Joan Plattner serve at the Hospital. Please consider giving to this very worthy cause.

The Apostolic Christian HarvestCall benefit auction for Hospital Lumiere is planned for Friday, November 10 at Five Points in Washington. The food court and silent auction start at 4:30. The live auction begins at 7:00. For more information, or to donate an item or service, see the announcement on the church bulletin board or visit the HarvestCall website.

Loving Shepherd Ministries will be hosting a meal and charity auction for the vulnerable children of Haiti and Ethiopia on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Five Points Washington.  The meal and Silent Auction start at 5:30PM with the Live Auction starting at 6:30PM. Items are still needed. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Bro. Wade or Sis. Hallie Wettstein.  The auction is a wonderful evening of fellowship and enjoyment while raising much needed funds to help the world’s most vulnerable children.  All are invited to attend. There will be free childcare provided, so couples with young children are encouraged to attend.

The Annual Eureka Home Benefit Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available at the Home front desk starting September 28th. We encourage all ages to come & support the Home!

There will be ACTIVE this week. 5th thru 8th should come prepared to be outside for a cookout and invite a friend.

The Silver Lining is seeking input from readers AND non-readers of the magazine to determine the best way to publish Apostolic Christian-related content that everyone in the brotherhood finds beneficial and easy to access, whether in print, online or some other format. Please complete a brief survey at the link below to help shape the future of The Silver Lining and other church-wide communications.

Go to: www.apostolicchristian.org/slsurvey

Note: a printed version of the survey will be bound into the October Silver Lining for readers who do not have internet access.

Just a reminder to listen to the conference recording for this week.  Bro. Jeff Steitmatter has this week’s talk and it is about our relationships in the community, including our work relationships.

We are organizing a team to go to Hospital Lumiere to support our missionaries there and do some electric and maintenance work. This will be the last team we send from Goodfield with the Plattner's still serving as missionaries. We can take up to 12 people on this team. Please call, email, or talk to Nate Zeltwanger in the next couple weeks if you are interested.
