2018 April 22 Announcements

We will open the collection boxes this month for our local Charity fund. Many lives are affected by your giving to this fund. If you know of anyone in need please see one of the Charity fund committee members: They are Bro. Nathan and Sis. Laura Wiegand, Bro. Chris and Sis. Liz Schmidgall and Bro. Duane and Sis. Vermeda Friedinger.

The new church directories are at the message center. Please take as many copies as you would like.

This is a reminder for the young group girls that this coming Tuesday evening is the special outing at the Depot Tearoom starting at 7:00 pm.  Please RSVP to Sis. Ruth Grimm if you have not already done so, in order to plan for food and gifts.  Looking forward to an evening of inspiration.

The young group guy’s Bible study will be at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s home this Tuesday at 7pm. We are on Chapter 8 in the James Bible study.

The Annual Sunday School Inspirational Night is this Thursday, April 26th at 7pm at the fellowship hall.  All Sunday School and ACTIVE teachers and their spouses are invited.

Our annual LifePoints Gospel Sing is in less than two weeks. We want to be sure that everyone is aware of the event and knows they are invited. There are flyers with more information at the message center. It is at Five Points in Washington. It is also being live streamed and can be watched at http://www.aclifepoints.org/GospelSing.asp. The program begins at 5:45.

The annual Tennessee Fellowship Weekend will be held, Lord willing, during Memorial Day Weekend. This year’s topic will focus on “God’s Redeeming Work”, shared through Ministering Bros. Matt Kaufmann (Bloomington, IL), Arlan Miller (Gridley, IL) and Jonathan Hodel (Roanoke, IL). A new format is being rolled out this year that includes planned activities for children, singing at nursing home in the Athens area as well as previous favorites--benefit auction, special group singing and Old Fashioned BBQ. Come join the Athens Congregation for a weekend of spiritual renewal, fellowship, singing and worshiping the Lord.  Please notify Bro. Roger and Sis. Becky Roberts if you plan to attend by Friday, May 4 (or before). See the Church Bulletin Board for more information.

Our dear Sister Sarah Melton passed away on Wednesday evening. Her visitation will be at our Fellowship Hall today (Monday) from 5-7pm. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10am at the church with visitation from 9-9:45am. Please be prayerful for the entire Melton family. Church services on Wednesday evening (4/25) will be cancelled as a result of the funeral.

We plan to have a conference update next Sunday during PM services. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come.

Note from Sis. Betty Bauman:

The family of Bro. Larry Bauman would like to thank everyone for the many kind deeds and especially the love and prayers that have been offered to them over the years of Larry’s health issues and since his passing.  We feel very blessed to be a part of a special brotherhood!

In Christian love,

Sis. Betty and family

We are very thankful to announce that Jake Billingsley has turned his heart to the Lord in repentance. Please be prayerful for Jake as he begins his walk with Jesus. We know today that there is rejoicing in heaven
