THIS WEEKS EVENTS:

Beginning tonight, Monday, January 12, Bro. Alan & Sis. Joanne Roth will be facilitating the Griefshare program at the Fellowship Hall Gathering Room. This is a faith based 13-week program that helps people learn how to navigate the grief journey. This program is open to everyone from the church & surrounding communities. Please share with anyone you know who may benefit from the Griefshare program & contact Alan or Joanne for more information.

HarvestCall sewing will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. this Tuesday at the Fellowship Hall.

This Wednesday evening we will be having a talk on discipleship groups at 7:00 in the Fellowship Hall. It will include a short discussion about what a discipleship group is and then a panel discussion with several brothers and sisters describing groups that they are involved with. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

This Thursday evening there is a singing and activity night at the Eureka AC Home at 6:30. Everyone is welcome to come spend some time with our residents there.

Our study for 2026 Winter Group Study is “Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers”. While we know what Christ has done for us on the cross, do we really understand His heart for His people who are striving heavenward yet are weary and faltering on the journey? This study reflects on the words of Jesus when He said, "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest."
This small group study is open to all and has been such a blessing to build spiritually deep relationships within our church body.
Please sign-up for the Winter Bible study here. You can also sign-up at the information center. Also, remember that checking leader indicates being willing to lead/host a group, please consider and mark being a leader or host a group. Please sign up by this Sunday, January 18th.  Any questions, please see Bro. Jon and Sis. Abby Hohulin.

It is Goodfield’s turn to have Sunday morning services at the Eureka AC Home each Sunday in January. These services begin at 8:45 a.m. Please come help sing and support our ministers if you are able.

LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be a blood drive at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall on Monday, January 19th from 1:00-6:00pm. If you are willing to donate blood, please sign up online or call Sis. Lynda Hinrichsen.

2026 church yearly calendars are available at the message center. All events have been added to our online calendar on our church website as well.

There will be a Middle School Youth Activity Night at the Eureka Middle School on February 1st for our 5th-8th grade students. This is a great way to get the Sunday school students of our church together in the wintertime for supper, have fun playing games, and continue to build relationships with each other. Student drop-off is at 4:30 p.m. and pick-up is at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Bro. Bob or Sis. Ashley Schieler.

It has been brought to our attention that several of the vendors we use for serving lunch, such as Beecham’s, Casey’s, Schnuck’s and ALDI are now requiring a 2 week notice for orders. Because of this we have compiled a new GREEN binder that has vendor information and past lunch history for you to pick up 2 weeks before you serve so you can place your orders in a timely fashion. You will then take the green binder back and exchange for the purple binder the Sunday before you serve. The purple binder has key and the rest of the information you will need to serve. Sis. Roxy will note in the weekly announcement email who serves in two weeks so you are alerted and can get started with the planning. Please remember if you switch serving dates with someone else to let Sis. Christy Wiegand know so she can update the church calendar online which Roxy will use for the reminders. If you have any questions, please see Sis. Emily Sauder or Sis. Judy Knapp.

Rotating potluck lists are ready to be picked up at the message center. Thank you to everyone willing to be a part!

Perspectives Class is being offered this Spring! Class starts on January 20th and runs for 15 weeks. It will be held at the Hub at Bloomington AC Church, located at 4408 E Raab Rd, Normal. Here is the link to register for the class and to find out more information about it. https://perspectives.org/find-a-class/ If you have any questions, please contact Bro. Erik & Sis. Carrie Wiegand.

LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: As students go through high school, it is hard to know what they want to do after graduation. Our church family has so many God given talents, resources, and so much to offer. We put together a "virtual job fair" so our church family can share about their jobs and then we will give the information to the high school students so they can get ideas and know who to reach out to with questions about jobs. The form has contact information so this another chance to build relationships as the high schoolers reach out to people with questions about jobs. The more people that fill out the form, the more jobs the students can learn about so we would appreciate anyone who would fill out the information. It may look long, but you do not need to fill out all the questions. If you feel questions don't apply, or you answered them elsewhere, these are just a guideline. You don't have to answer them all. If you are retired, you can pick a job you had during your career to fill the form out about. If you have any questions, please reach out to Bro. Nate or Sis. Emily Sauder. We appreciate your time and thank you for completing the form by 04/25/2026. Click-here to complete the "Virtual Job Fair" form . Thank you! LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: We would like to extend a big thank you to Nate and Brittany Zeltwanger and their committee for hosting the marriage conference this weekend. Other couples were Robert and Melissa Rokey, Dan and Kayla Wiegand, Rhonda and Loren Zeltwanger, Emily and Nate Sauder, Curt and Larissa Wettstein, and Ross and Kitty Hermann. We would like to update the church on our building exploration process. We have established a building exploration committee and provided them with the feedback from our church survey and discussions. They have met several times now and are exploring three basic paths: Option #1 - Updates – Upgrades to interior of church with possible minor exterior/addition work Option #2 - Major update – Upgrades to interior of church with addition(s) Option #3 - Potential new build. Next steps will involve budgeting and putting together ideas on rough order of magnitude costs for each of these options. Once direction has been prayed about and approved, we will develop committees to work on different areas/aspects of the direction we pursue. All items are being reviewed and discussed to provide the church with options to move forward or remain as we are currently. The good news is that we don’t have to do anything, however, the last time a major remodel was done has been over 50 years ago! If anyone has questions, let any of us on the committee know and we will discuss them as a group. The committee specifically is asking for prayers for God to direct us and the church on how to move forward. We understand we are stewards of what God has given us, and our main goal as a church is to provide teaching, community, and discipleship to show the love of Jesus to the world! Committee Members: Jedd and Marsha Jared Schieber Greg Post Rick Bauman Derek Roth Arlen Edelman Brandon Knapp Our 2026/2027 Sunday School and Trustee ballot will go out via email this week. The format looks a little different this year and will hopefully make it easier to vote and determine the results. You will also notice an opportunity to vote between 2 brothers for assistant superintendent and a confirmation vote for Bro. Derek Roth for our next treasurer. We would appreciate everyone praying for guidance from the Holy Spirit and filling out the ballot by Friday, March 6th.
