The Goodfield HarvestCall representatives are looking for an individual, either a brother or a sister, to take over the responsibility for Goodfield's HarvestCall kit assembly. We currently assemble Midwest Health Kits twice a year during Family Hymn Sings. Please see Sis. Carrie Blunier if you are interested or have questions.

We want to thank all of you who were able to participate in our small group discussions this past Wednesday and on October 15th. We are compiling all of the notes and sorting them to identify common themes or thoughts. These summaries will be handed off to a building exploration committee and will be used to guide their discussions around the scope, feasibility, and desires of the church family.

We do want to reiterate some points to keep us all on the same page.

1.   This discussion began with the trustees identifying several building upgrades that need to be done in the near future. As good stewards, we do not want to spend any money on our facility without exploring all options.

2.   We want the church’s input on any large decisions. We felt that these discussions gave us an opportunity to really hear the church in a way that was healthier than an anonymous survey.

3.   We also recognize that some decisions will be made that will disappoint some. We will never all agree on the scope of the project, colors or styles of carpet, etc. If we decide to do nothing with our facility, that will disappoint some. We just ask for grace and patience as individuals and committees work through decisions.

4.   The ministry team was involved in helping lead the small group discussions but that will largely end our involvement in this process. Our role is the preaching of God’s Word, nurturing of souls, and guiding the spiritual growth of the congregation. We should not let those efforts be negatively impacted by a building project. We will help in identifying the initial exploration committee and then we will be fairly hands off at that point other than helping with some communication.

5.   We recognize that there was some angst around the discussion of church planting. It is an uncomfortable topic. For clarity, we are not exploring a church plant at this time. Our Apostolic Christian Church, and many other churches, has recognized that building bigger and bigger churches is not following the pattern of the early church. There are challenges when a church gets too big, just as there are challenges when a church is too small. It is healthiest when the conversations around a healthy church plant begin 5 to 10 years before it becomes necessary. It may never become necessary in Goodfield. However, the only way it will never become a need, is if we become stagnant or shrink. We don’t want that.

NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

HarvestCall’s next large-scale Rebuilding Ministry project will be in Acadia Parish, Louisiana.
Acadia Parish in southern Louisiana experienced excessive rainfall in 2025, causing significant damage to houses, some still waiting for help after Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020.
They are in need of our help to repair and rebuild their homes and lives. HarvestCall will be helping underserved people who suffered loss and are unable to recover on their own.
While construction is the obvious activity of this ministry, the primary goal is to share the love of Christ and proclaim the Gospel.

·        Forty volunteers are needed each week starting January 11, 2026 and continuing through March 27, 2026. If you find that the weeks are full, put your name on the waitlist so we know that you would like to help.

·        Skilled tradesmen AND unskilled workers are needed, as are those with a passion to share the Gospel with those we serve.

·        Online registration is required for all volunteers and opens at noon Central time on Wednesday, November 19th at www.harvestcall.org

DATES TO REMEMBER:

November 22nd & 23rd: Testimonies and baptisms for Braden Schieler, Tyson Schieler, and Harvey Schieber

December 3rd: Testimonies for Chuck & Diane Schrock & baptism for Chuck

Earlier this year, we shared presentations outlining the challenges and opportunities facing senior care and the future of this ministry. We are grateful for the thoughtful feedback, survey responses, and conversations that followed. After prayerful consideration, the Board of Directors has approved the Assisted Living building project at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. We believe this project is an important step in meeting the future needs of seniors while strengthening the long-term sustainability of our mission. The design team is now finalizing plans and working to make the best use of resources as they prepare for construction bidding and final cost evaluation. We are thankful for the support expressed throughout this process, including the financial commitments already made toward this effort. We encourage continued prayers for wisdom, unity, and God's blessing as plans progress. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us through our capital campaign, “A Legacy of Care, A Future of Choice”. Donations designated for the Assisted Living Building Campaign will help support development of the new facility and the future ministry of the Home. Project updates will continue to be shared as significant milestones are reached. Please contact your local Board Members (Bro. Rod Hinrichsen & Bro. Darrell Stoller), with any questions or feedback. We thank God for His faithfulness over the past 60 years and look forward in faith as He continues to lead this ministry into the future. A new Jobs section in AC Central — now open to any employer (business or nonprofit) who wishes to recruit Apostolic Christians — has been added to the latest update of AC Central (version 4.3). For a small fee, employers can post jobs to reach all registered AC Central users. And job seekers can now filter openings by location, job type, industry, pay, etc. and set up notifications. This service was created to respond to the multitude of requests from brethren — and other employers — who wanted some way to publicize their job openings to ACs across the country. This new service will help employers reach over 12,000 registered AC Central users across the country, enabling them to find honest, hardworking employees while — in some cases — facilitating crosspollination of members from one congregation to another. Any employer can use this service. It is NOT limited to just nonprofit mission-oriented jobs. This being a brand-new service, it may take a while for word to get around and employers to start using the service, so job seekers, are encouraged to check back regularly. The HarvestCall Child Sponsorship Office in Morton is looking for 2 volunteers to take over certain office responsibilities for our child sponsorship program in Haiti. This would require approximately 4 hours of in office work per week, and basic computer skills. Volunteers would be responsible for managing updates on student information and notifying sponsors of all changes. This is an excellent way to be involved in the work that HarvestCall Child Sponsorship is doing with students in Haiti. Those interested should reach out to Cathy Koch (Office Manager) at (309) 267-3905 or email the Office at childsponsorship@harvestcall.org . NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Greetings to the Upper Midwest and Illinois churches! The Rochester Christian Guest House continues to support those coming to Rochester for medical care and their families. At the end of our recent annual meeting, it seemed timely to update the churches on some changes and current needs. The three separate guestrooms w/ private baths and a shared common/kitchen area are all on the lower level. This past year, a lift was installed to provide easier access from the main floor, which has blessed many. High usage continues to come from our churches and associated friends/neighbors. Those staying include those receiving care as well as their friends and family. Please continue encouraging brethren and friends to visit the Guesthouse Webpage for more information and reservations in their time of need. Unsolicited donations from those staying or from their churches cover operating expenses. This coming year, we seek to raise around $30,000 to replace the deck and some sections of the sidewalk. Contributions can be made out to the Rochester Guesthouse and mailed directly to our treasurer, Bro. John Berglund (4110 Brunswick Ave N, Crystal, MN 55422). Guests are presently served by short-term caretakers while we pray for a long-term caretaker. To that end, we are seeking to expand our list of potential short-term caretakers who stay for a few days to a few months at a time to interact with the guests and turn over the rooms. The short-term list is contacted when guests are scheduled to be at the guesthouse. We pray that, in time, God will also provide us with a long-term caretaker who can stay for one or more years, serving guests and caring for the home. When we are blessed with a longterm caretaker, we will still need short-term caretakers to cover vacations and other needs as they arise. If there is interest in exploring either role, please reach out to our board chair, David Messner ( dbmessner@gmail.com ). We thank you for your prayers - for the board to be good stewards of entrusted funds, for God to provide caretakers to serve with the compassion of Christ, and for our guests to be encouraged and drawn closer to God during their stay.
