THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
This Wednesday Bro. Kevin Schrock from our Congerville church plans to be with us to talk about "The Greatest Commandments". This will be at the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
It is Goodfield’s turn to have Sunday morning services at the Eureka AC Home each Sunday in October. These services begin at 8:45 a.m. Please come help sing and support our ministers if you are able.
When we approved the changes to our bylaws a couple of months ago, a portion of the packet that you were given to approve was accidentally left out when it was sent to the state of Illinois. By state law, to add that portion to our bylaws and constitution that is registered with the state, we must vote again. They consider this a new submission even though we approved the bylaws and constitution in its entirety. We plan to vote again on the same packet right after morning church next Sunday, October 26th. We will give opportunity for the Sunday School teachers to vote as well. If you remember, we need 60% of the membership to vote to make it official.
LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
It’s time to sign up for rotating potluck. If you would like to participate next year, the sign-up sheets are at the message center. If you have any questions, please see Bro. Mike or Sis. Gretchen Zimmerman or Bro. Tim or Sis. Susie Blunier.
Thank you to all who were able to attend our small group discussions on Wednesday. There were open and meaningful conversations and the thoughts that were collected will be invaluable for our future decisions. If you were unable to attend, here is a link to a form with the questions that we discussed. You can also click on the link at the bottom of the announcements email for a printable version if you prefer that. We welcome anyone to give their input over the next week or so.
There are some dishes on kitchen counter that haven’t been claimed for over a month… they’ll be taken to goodwill if they’re still there at the end of this month.
For our Goodfield church visioning and building remodel project, we will have a small group discussions on Wednesday, November 5th in place of our regular service. The discussion will be around our facility and how we can change or improve the facility to better accomplish our mission. All attendees and members of our church are invited and encouraged to attend.
