2019 November 3 Announcements

Roxy Blunier • November 4, 2019

Our monthly collection is for the Eureka Home. We are thankful to have a wonderful place that cares deeply for our loved ones. Please consider supporting the Home this month.

There will be ACTIVE this week.

We plan to have singing at the Eureka Home on this Saturday, November 9th. Due to extremely low turnouts we have decided to have a signup sheet each month for this. We would like to have at least 30 people to attend each week. You can sign up at the information center or online At this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0C4EA5AB2BA7FC1-eureka. It is a great opportunity for each of us, especially families with children to interact with our loved ones at the home. Please consider the blessing that you will receive for attending.

The benefit auction for Hospital Lumiere is planned for this Friday, November 8 at Five Points in Washington, Illinois.  The food court and silent auction start at 4:30.  The live auction begins at 7:00.  This annual fund-raising auction is a critical part of Hospital Lumiere’s funding and your support is appreciated.  Goodfield has been asked to provide volunteers for many tasks including Food Court, Silent Auction, and help with carrying out items.  Bible class, Young Group, and Sunday school kids over the age of 10 are needed from 4:30 on for a multitude of tasks.  Adults are welcome too!  There is a sign-up sheet at the message center or you can text Sis. Jill Wagner at 309-267-2109.  If you have questions, talk to Sis. Jill or Bro. Greg Wagner.

We are having the Adult Bible Study series at the Fellowship Hall this month each Sunday morning starting at 10am.  Bro. Nathan plans to teach.  Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor.

We are returning to Texas in 2020 to continue helping in their recovery and Orange County, Texas will be the location of our next Winter Rebuilding Ministry.  (This is just east of the 2019 location, Hardin County.)  Homes will be built or repaired for those who have not been able to recover on their own from Hurricane Harvey.  And, as we do, we’ll be focused on sharing the love of Christ and the gospel message of salvation.  Just like last year, in order to give everyone equal chance at the limited spots available, registration will open at a set date and be first come — first served.  Registration opens at noon Central Time on November 18 on the HarvestCall website.

Effective Jan 1, 2020, the Goodfield Distribution Center is discontinuing its Furniture Distribution effort.  Effective immediately; furniture, appliances, baby items or bed and/or mattress donations are not being accepted.  Any questions should be directed to Bro. Norm Ricketts.  Also (as previously announced) there is a great need for clothing, shoes, pillows and bed sheets to send overseas.

Jonas and Savannah Wiegand are at peace with God and man and desire baptism.  Please pray for Jonas and Savana and encourage them during this most important time in their life.  If you have any words of encouragement or concerns, please contact them.  Jonas and Savannah are the children of Bro. Erik and Sis. Carrie Wiegand.  We know there is joy in heaven because of this and we are rejoicing as well.

There is going to be an Awareness Tour to Jamaica January 17-21. We will be visiting the places HarvestCall is involved with on the Island. If you are interested in more information please contact Bro. Alan or Sis. Joanne Roth.

Please pray for Bro. Roger Gerber as he plans to have major back surgery this Tuesday.  He’ll be in the hospital for a few days (up to a week depending on his recovery) and he and Sis. Trish would appreciate your prayers.

Thank you for your prayers for Tony Wirth.  The retina has reattached but vision is not yet totally clear. Please continue to pray for healing.

Local mission trip opportunity! Make a global impact in your own backyard. Lifesong for Orphans in Gridley, IL is seeking volunteers to help with the construction of a new office space and coffee roasting facility. If interested, fill out a volunteer interest form at lifesong.org/volunteer. This is not signing up to volunteer! Rather, it’s signing up to receive more information and opportunities as the project progresses.  A number of licensed contractors will be on the job, and as a volunteer, you’ll be working side-by-side with these skilled professionals.  Even if these needs don’t fit your skill set, you can still be involved! Would you pray over this project and the Lifesong for Orphans ministry? If you have any questions, please call/text Bro. Barry Kloter @ 309-657-4455.

MONTHLY COLLECTION: Apostolic Christian Counseling & Family Services Donate electronically CALENDARS: Church calendar , yearly calendar , young group calendar , national church calendar SERMONS: Audio/Video SUNDAY SCHOOL COLLECTION ITEM: Paper towels for the Heart House THIS WEEKS EVENTS: Harvest Call sewing will be this Tuesday, May 20th from 9-11 am at the Fellowship Hall. This coming Sunday, May 25th will be the last day of Sunday school before our summer break. LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Yesterday was graduation day for many of our seniors. We wish them God's blessings and guidance as they journey on through life. Click-here to view a slideshow of the seniors. Our seniors this year are: Ella Blunier Owen Ellis Ayla Knapp Carrie Fowler Kody Post Kim Schmidgall Mason Stoller Elana Wettstein Kaylie Wettstein Macy Wettstein Alex Wiegand Lance Wiegand Peyton Wiegand May 31/June 1: Testimonies and baptisms for Kristen Rokey, Josiah Rokey, Kenton Glueck & Reilly Wiegand Our all-church potluck will be Sunday, June 1st at the Fellowship Hall at 4:30. Fried chicken, drinks, and tableware will be provided. Please bring a dish or two to share. Contact Bro. Nate or Sis. Emily Sauder with any questions. Save the date for the Father/Son campout on June 20th and 21st. All men and boys are invited. We would like everyone to know that we now have an additional tool for sharing prayer requests! It is an online prayer wall. In the past, the way prayer requests have worked are as follows: If somebody has prayer requests for the church, they would either contact one of the ministers or Sister Roxy, and it would get typed into a tool that would send out an email or a text, depending on the urgency of the request. The prayer request would go out to whoever is subscribed to that in our church. This has worked, and will continue to be an option, but the downside to that system is that when a request comes, it reminds you to pray for that individual, or that circumstance, and then it's kind of “gone”. Maybe you remember later to pray, or maybe you don't. The prayer wall that we've come up with is now active on our church website . If you go to the ministries section of our church website, you'll see a listing, “prayer wall”. When you click on the prayer wall and look at it, it will show you different requests that people have put out for either prayer or praise. These are visible, and you can read through them, you can pray for them, and there is even a spot where you can click “Amen”, and that will give a little boost of encouragement to whoever posted the request. They can go back and see that five people today prayed for their situation, or 10 people, or whatever the number is. It is nice because it gives feedback to them. It also will allow you as a church family to be a little bit more interactive or quickly get a prayer request out there. You can submit a request yourself, by clicking on the “add a prayer “ button. There is also an option to get notified of any new prayer requests. When you are on the prayer wall, you will see a little button that says, “watch” with a little eye on it. If you click that, it'll ask you to put in your email address. Once you put in your email address, it will then send you notifications when a new prayer request has come in. This is great if you are not in the habit of going there daily or weekly, you'll get a notification that somebody else from our church family submitted a prayer request. Please take the time to check this out. We think it will be a great asset to our congregation! Contact Bro. Brian or Sis. Lisa Rieke or Bro. Mike Zimmerman with any questions. NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Lord willing, the “Rooftop Revival” project will begin Sunday evening, May 25th. At this time, they are short on volunteers. They are hoping for some students that are on break or adults with flexible jobs to sign up soon. The projected duration of the project is 5-7 weeks. This project will be patterned after the Winter Rebuilding ministry. Please use this link to inform us of your plans so the local congregations (Bern and Sabetha) can make preparation. Meals and accommodations will be provided, but we need all volunteers individually to respond via Sign-up Genius . Contact Bro. Barry or Sis. Joyce Kloter with questions. Also, please be prayerful for Bro. Barry & Sis. Joyce as they plan to travel to Kansas this week and stay for the duration of the project as the volunteer coordinators.

After much prayer and consideration, God has directed us to use volunteer labor to replace the roof on the whole facility. It will require 11 semi loads of shingles and many hours of volunteer labor. Lord willing, the “Rooftop Revival” project will begin Sunday evening, May 25th. The projected duration of the project is 5-7 weeks. This project will be patterned after the Winter Rebuilding ministry. Please use the Sign-up Genius link below to inform us of your plans so the local congregations (Bern and Sabetha) can make preparation. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/RRNational Meals and accommodations will be provided, but we need all volunteers individually to respond via Sign-up Genius. Contact Bro. Barry or Sis. Joyce Kloter with questions. THANK YOU NOTE: From Sis.
