THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
We want to thank you all for the prayers on behalf of Bro. Jeff and Sis. Janel as well as Bro. Nathan and Sis. Laura for their interviews with the elder body this week. They were both confirmed for their respective duties as Elder and Ordained deacon in Goodfield. We plan to have their ordinations on Sunday, August 20th at 6pm at the church. Everyone (including our children and friends) is invited and encouraged to attend. We are very thankful for God’s provisions for His church. With much love, Jeff and Ruth Grimm
Sunday School will start next Sunday, August 20th at 9:45am in the West assembly room downstairs. Here is a welcome letter, class roster, and classroom location map for your review. We are excited for another blessed Sunday School year. Please see Bro. Bob Schieler with any questions.
Young Adult Sunday School will resume on Sunday morning, August 20th at the Gathering Room. We welcome all single adults after high school through 25 years old. The class will meet every Sunday morning throughout the school year beginning at 9:45 AM with fellowship and song worship, followed by a lesson beginning promptly at 10:00. Lessons include teaching along with some small group discussions and activities. We will be starting out this year with a study of the book of Jonah. If you have any questions please contact brothers Erik Wiegand, Darrell Stoller, or Nathan Wiegand.
ISU Young Group Student Welcome - The college student welcome is on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 4 p.m at the Bloomington church. College age students and their parents are invited to attend a dinner and welcome night to start off the school year. Feel free to contact Cade Schumacher with any questions you might have.
It is Goodfield’s turn to have Sunday morning services at the Eureka AC Home each Sunday in August. These services begin at 8:45 a.m. Please come help sing and support our ministers if you are able.
LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We are asking for high school ages and older who like art, drawing and having fun, to help with the painting of the creation mural down in the church basement. We will have 3 or 4 people at a time and add more time slots as we progress so check back often. You can review the available time slots and sign-up using this link. Contact Sis. Dawn Maloney with any questions.
It is time for the Heart House ice cream social in the Metamora Park. If you would be willing to donate pies to this event, please sign up on the sheet at the message center. They will need pies delivered to Heart House by noon on Friday, August 25th. If you have any questions, please see Sis. Judy Musselman. Thank you in advance!

DATES TO REMEMBER:
Testimonies and baptisms for Valerie Roth & Hadley Plattner: September 16th & 17th. We’d like to invite our Goodfield church to a singing after Val and Hadley’s baptism on September 17th at the Fellowship Hall at 6:30.
Loving Shepherd Ministries Benefit Auction will be Saturday, September 30th at Five Points in Washington. Dinner & Silent Auction 5:30 p.m. Live Auction 6:30 p.m. Child care provided.
The 2nd Annual Eureka Home Family Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Goodfield Fellowship Hall, 4p-8p. Please mark your calendars and come out to support our local Home for this fun family event. More details will follow later.
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Believing that God has brought them together by faith, we would like to announce the engagement of Sister Kassidy Post to Brother Harlan Kupferschmid from Champaign. Kassidy is the daughter of Bro. Greg and Sis. Missy Post. Harlan is the son of Bro. Corbin and Sis. Stephanie Kupferschmid. We are very thankful for them, and trust God will bless their future together.
