The Proclaim & Serve 2023 missions conference is Saturday, July 8 in Roanoke. Everyone is invited to this inspiring and thought-provoking event. You do NOT need to be a missionary or be actively involved in an outreach to attend. ALL are encouraged to come and be inspired, be challenged, and be better equipped to share the gospel. Learn more and register before the July 5 deadline at proclaimandserve.org.
The Morton church will be hosting a Hymns of Worship (new hymnal) hymn sing/practice session on Saturday, July 22 from 7:00 - 8:30 at the Morton Fellowship Hall, with a simple lunch to follow. This will be the second in a series of sessions where we run over a set of songs from the new hymnal. These sessions are informal, and we may stop and start to run through individual parts where needed as we familiarize ourselves with each song. There will be an octet that has practiced the numbers ahead of time that will be assisting the congregation in learning the songs, as well as a pianist who can plunk out parts as needed. The first session was done on April 29 and the audio/video of it can be found on the AC Central app if you care to see how the first evening was conducted. (Search the sermon area for "rehearsal" and you'll find it.) It was a tremendous blessing to everyone who came! Based on the success of the first session, we would like to do another one, but invite even more from surrounding churches to join us. We would love to see the FH full. No RSVP is necessary.
The Annual Gateway Woods Auction will be held August 5. Donated items should be given to Erik and Carrie Wiegand no later than July 19. If would like to give money for items to be purchased on your behalf, please see Erik and Carrie about that also. Thank you as always for your generous support of this important ministry.
The General Brotherhood Conference for the Apostolic Christian Church of America will be held in Morton, Illinois this year on Friday, August 11th. Elder presentations will be scheduled from 9:00 to 11:30, followed by a lunch break from 11:30 to 1:00 and more Elder presentations from 1:00 to 3:30. If you want to come the evening before, there will be a general church singing and fellowship on Thursday, August 10th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall, preceded by a buffet dinner in the church dining room from 4:30 to 6:00. If you need overnight accommodations, please indicate that when you register to attend the conference. For Elders, Ministers and their wives, there will be a special meeting in the Morton church sanctuary on Thursday evening. Following the buffet dinner at the church, song service will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Elders/Ministers Meeting from 6:30 to 8:30. Here is the LINK to register for the conference – the due date is Friday, June 30th.
