Our collection for the month of July is for Apostolic Christian LifePoints.
We are having a special monetary collection this week during VBS for the En Gedi House in Jamaica where Sis. Erin Davis lives.
Vacation Bible School will begin tonight. Please see the church email that went out for times and locations for each age group. Please check where your child needs to be and contact Bro. Kevin or Sis. Lindsay Wiegand if you have any questions. On Friday evening at 7:45 pm, the entire church family is encouraged to attend a short song service by our students held in the parking lot followed by ice cream for all. Please bring lawn chairs. Also, a reminder that the in-person VBS for Adults on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is going to include Bible Class and young group and their parents and teachers. The rest of us will be able to watch or listen from home.
The Young Group Girls’ Bible Study has been cancelled for this month.
The Young Group Guys’ Bible Study will be on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Bro. Rick & Sis. Stacie Bauman’s house.
An email went out last week with an invitation letter from the elders for the 2020 General Conference. It will be a virtual event this year and will take place on Thursday, August 6th at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to join. Everyone will need to register to watch the conference online. Please
click here to read the invitation letter to the church
from the Elder Agenda Committee. This letter also provides the link where you will need to register to watch/listen to the conference. Whether you “attend” with us or not, please pray for the Conference. For it to be edifying to the church, we need the Lord’s blessing. Although we are living in a time of restrictions, we are looking forward to each one of you being in “attendance” at the Conference!
Gateway Woods will be hosting their online benefit auction and virtual program this week. Thanks for your patience, prayers and support through this unique time. Registration for this year’s auction is now open and a link is available on their website (www.gatewaywoods.org/auction). Items are available now to preview and the Auction will open for bidding this Thursday at 8:00 AM EST. The Auction will remain open until Saturday afternoon, August 1st. There will also be a Live Virtual program broadcasted through Youtube and Facebook on Friday, July 31st at 8:00 PM EST
that will include the Gateway Choir, testimonies, and a unique opportunity to engage with staff virtually. Thanks to you, Brothers and Sisters, for investing in this mission of providing hope and healing to hurting children and families! We couldn’t do what we do without your prayers and support.
The Goodfield Vision team met recently and decided to postpone our vision efforts till we are back to a more normal assembly. We are very thankful for the responses you gave to the survey and plan to spend much time working thru them. At some point in the future we will share those results with you. Our goals for this effort remain the same:
• How do we help our Church family feel loved?
• How do we give our Church family a voice?
• How do we help our Church family feel equipped and enabled?
• How do we align our Church family more closely to its Scriptural calling?
We are very thankful to announce that Kaitlyn Wiegand and Bradley Glueck are at peace with God and man and are ready for baptism. Please pray for them and encourage them during this most important time in their lives. If you have any words of encouragement or concerns, please contact them. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Bro. Doug and Sis. Lynn Wiegand and Bradley is the son of George and Pauline Glueck.
We are planning baptisms and testimonies for Kaitlyn, Brad and Reggie Plattner on September 26th and 27th. Please mark this on your calendars.
We have a very special engagement announcement of our brother Jon Hohulin to Sis. Abby Moser from Roanoke. Jon is the son of Bro. Ross & Sis. Heather Hohulin and Abby is the daughter of Bro. Greg & Sis. Shar Moser. May the Lord bless their engagement and upcoming marriage.
Remember to have “a steady hand”
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Note from Eureka AC Home:
With the Corona Virus and the restrictions our Home has had to put in place lasting longer than anyone could have even imagined, we have plans for a few new activities and special surprises for our residents starting up next week. We are hoping there might be individuals, groups or families in your churches, who would like to come up with special words of encouragement attached to candy or small table favors that we could pass out with the mail or at meal times. 110 items (no homemade food items at this time, only store bought). This will help to let all residents know, they are being prayed over and thought of by many.
If several different groups would want to take a different week or month we could keep this going for a while.
Search Google with the word Agape and get lots of fun ideas.
Other ideas would be placemats or special napkins with Encouraging Bible Verses, Seasonal Themes, or Large Print Game Placemats to be used at meal time. We would not be doing this on a daily basis but for something special every so often to make them all feel extra loved. These are just ideas and if anyone is interested in helping, we would greatly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Wendy Falk
Volunteer Development Coordinator
We rejoice with Bro. Jesse & Sis. Tiffany Ruegsegger as they were blessed with a 3 week old foster boy, Cai.
