2020 Vacation Bible School Church Announcement:
Vacation Bible School will take place the last week in July (27th-31)
This year’s vacation bible school for the children will have a theme of “Gospel Gone Viral”. Keeping in mind the virus pandemic that we all have been going through, we will be doing things differently. We will be trying to maintain physical distancing measures as well as continue to teach our children about the Lord. The children will be divided up into groups.
We will combine the classes as follows:
- Pre-Kindergarten-Kindergarten will be together
- 1st and 2nd Grade will be together
- 3rd,4th,5th Grade Boys will be together
- 3rd,4th, 5th Grade Girls will be together
- 6th,7th,8th Grade Boys will be together
- 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Girls will be together
We will only be meeting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings in separate groups at separate locations. Those locations are to be determined by who signs up to host. Start time will be 6:45. There will be a sign-up genius going out via email for teachers to volunteer. We will be asking for a host teacher and assistant teachers for each of those grade levels. Hosts can host students anywhere they would like. Some examples being your home, cabin, park, fellowship hall, gathering room, etc. You will only be hosting Monday and Wednesday evening. Friday evening all the students will be on church property at different locations but coming together to finalize the week by singing a few songs for the church in the church parking lot.
**We are still encouraging students to invite friends and others from the community to participate.
For the adult VBS we are planning on Bible Class, Young Group, and parents of those young adults in the sanctuary. Everyone else will be able to either watch via the video link on our website or listen via AC Central. If guidelines change that will allow us to have more people in the sanctuary by then our desire is to open it up to as many as possible.
Upon completion of VBS week (Friday) we invite the entire church family to meet in the parking lot (outside) at 8pm to listen to the students sing, and enjoy a treat. More information will follow at a later date.
Any questions or concerns please contact Bro. Kevin or Sis. Lindsay Wiegand. A sign-up genius link will go out tomorrow and we would encourage everyone to prayerfully consider signing up to help.
Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair,
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say:
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us that day,
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much whatever the part.
