As an Elder Body, we appreciate the opportunity to communicate with the church during our General Conference. And while we are sharing with you that we are canceling the in-person Thursday evening Elder/Minister Meeting and Friday General Conference this year at Rittman, the Agenda Committee is working on alternative approaches for us to communicate with the Church in August. We would ask each of you to be prayerful as they seek to discern the Holy Spirit’s direction so that we can still “gather together” in a way that is “decent and in good order.”
There will be a drive thru church shower on Friday, May 15 from 7:00-8:00 in the church/FH parking lot for Audrey and Felix, Rob and Melissa Rieke, Cole and Sabrina Zeller, Taylor Wiegand and Drew Gerber, Nate Hartman and Haley Rokey. Gabe Swords and Nicole will not be able to attend but we will have a basket and card for them also. Gabe is moving to Florida for his next phase of schooling so won’t be in this area. Please bring $5-10 for each couple and a paper product. If you have any questions text or call Sisters Karen Wiegand or Marsha Rocke.
You should have received an email from Bro. Jeff Grimm on Tuesday morning about our reassembling plans. Please make sure you check that. If you did not get it please let one of the ministers know and we will forward it to you. If you have a loved one who does not get email please share it with them.
There have been some conflicting and confusing news reports recently about our village and the church’s plans for reopening. While we appreciate the support of our Goodfield Mayor and city council we have consulted with local and national elders and are committed to moving forward at a similar pace as our other area Apostolic Churches. To be clear, we are not opening up the church at this time and will continue to offer online services like we have been. Our healthcare team along with the ministers are working on a plan to begin reassembly as soon as we possibly can. Rest assured, you, our church family will be the first to hear from us as to when this will begin to happen.
From Bro. Mike and Sis. Gretchen Zimmerman,
Thank you! Seems so shallow of a way to express the outpouring of love, prayers, encouragement, virtual hugs, cards, flowers, gifts, and support from our Church Family. Still, we wanted to let you know how much we appreciate what each of you has done during our time of loss. We also want to thank the 6th-grade students for their prayers for Jim (he has been on our prayer list) and gift, so parents, please let them know how much we love them too.
In Christian Love
Bro. Mike, Sis. Gretchen, and families
