Our collection for the month of April is for the Charity Fund. Donations will be used to assist individuals who may have experienced hardships, health issues or unexpected financial obligations.
Our annual spring church cleaning is scheduled for Friday, April 9, and Saturday, April 10. Friday evening we will focus on the Fellowship Hall starting at 6 PM. Saturday morning we will focus on both the church and finishing the Fellowship Hall starting at 7:30 AM. Cleaning supplies will be provided, but extra sweepers and step ladders would be welcomed. Individual Sunday school classrooms will not be cleaned at this time. They will be cleaned by the teachers when Sunday school is over for the year. The church grounds cleanup will be on Saturday, April 10, starting at 7:30 AM. Please bring rakes, blowers, clippers, scoops, wheelbarrows, waste containers, or any other tool useful for outdoor cleanup and landscape trimming.
Bro. Jeff Grimm and Bro. Jeff Wiegand would appreciate your prayers next Saturday as they will be attending the Illinois regional elder & ordained deacon meeting in Bloomington.
We will have our Adult Friends Bible Studies starting next Sunday, April 11th. We will skip April 18th (due to Bro. Lakin & Sis. Abby’s wedding) but then have studies on April 25th and one on May 2nd. These will be held during the 10:00 service at the Fellowship Hall and Bro. Kent Wiegand will be leading the studies.
This is a praise and thank you message to our Lord and our church family. Last Thanksgiving weekend we started work on the fire-damaged home at 1007 Peppertree Lane in Eureka. The home is finished. The mother and her 5 children moved in last weekend. The mother has recommitted her life to Jesus through this journey and is now a part of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church. This is such a praise story of how God makes beauty out of ashes...literally!
The material costs for this ministry are being shared among Roanoke, Eureka and Goodfield churches. We've had over 100 volunteers (from these 3 churches, plus Congerville) that have labored in love to complete this project. Thank you for your prayers and support through these last 5 months.
We plan to have an Open House Celebration on Sunday, April 11. Everyone is welcome to tour the home from 2:30-4:00.
Our spring family hymn sing and pie night will be at the church next Sunday, April 11th at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend! Please sign up at the message center if you plan to come. There is also a sign-up to bring pies. See Sis. Jamie Rokey or Sis. Rita Bauman with any questions.
Saturday, April 17 is set aside to reroof the home at 34 Pynes Dr. in Timberline Mobile Estates. The homeowner is a young widow. This will be a complete tear-off, so younger, energetic help is needed. We will start at 8:00 and hopefully complete the work in one day. If you have questions, please see Bro. Kevin Wiegand or Bro. Barry Kloter.
We are lifting all capacity restrictions now at the fellowship hall and encouraging the renters to use their own discretion on capacity and social distancing, etc.
Next Sunday we will be returning to our normal worship times of 10am and 12:20 with lunch in between.
We rejoice with Bro. Arlen & Sis. Marissa Edelman as they were blessed with a baby girl, Sloan Louise on March 28th.
