Our collection for the month of July is for Apostolic Christian LifePoints.
Vacation Bible School is this week.
3-year-olds through 8th graders will be meeting every night of the week with singing starting at 7:00pm in the main Sunday school assembly. The children should go to the grade level of the class they just completed in the 2020-21 school year. They will be ready to be picked up at 8:30pm. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors!
The Bible Class will be meeting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights. Song service begins at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary, followed by guest speaker, singing group and a light meal. Everyone is invited to come join our Bible Class for teaching and song worship these three nights. VBS is a great opportunity to invite a friend to worship and learn with us.
The theme for the week is Serving Christ. The speakers are Nathan Hodel (Roanoke), Kevin Knapp (Bloomington), and Tim Wiegand (Leo), and the singing groups are Living Waters, The Hartman Family, and the Sunday School students. Monday and Wednesday a light meal will be served afterwards, and Friday night is pie night – there is a sign-up sheet in the back hall to bring a pie (or two😊)
We look forward to meeting and growing in the Lord together.
During the week of Vacation Bible School we will be accepting monetary donations for operational costs for The En Gedi House in Jamaica. Sis. Erin Davis is planning to give an update on what is going on at the EnGedi House in Jamaica where she and her daughter Neiha live. This will be today at the fellowship hall main assembly room following afternoon church.
The Young Group Guys Bible Study will be this Tuesday evening at 7:00 at Bro. Jeff and Sis. Janel Wiegand's Grain bin.
The young group girls Bible study will be at the same time at Bro. Kent & Sis. Lanae Wiegand’s home.
Please pray for our elders and the Summer Elder conference which will be next week on August 3-6. The general conference will be held at 9am on Friday, August 6th in Rittman, Ohio and is open for any member of the Apostolic Christian church to attend.
We are eagerly looking forward to rebooting our Wednesday evening ACTIVE program in September. We are currently short several teachers for Pre-K through 8th grade. If you would be willing to help with ACTIVE, please let Bro. Jeff Wiegand know this week. ACTIVE typically meets the first and third Wednesday of the month.
The Heart House is needing some baked pies for an Ice Cream social that is taking place in Metamora on August 13th. There is a sign-up sheet at the message center for making pies and also a few workers to help with cutting and dishing up the pies. If you have any questions please contact Sis. Dawn Maloney.
The Heart House is also looking for some volunteers for the Drive Through Spaghetti Supper on September 2nd. The link to sign up is https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E4FADAB22A7F58-2021.
Gateway Woods is now requesting all items to be in Leo by Saturday, July 31. Bro. Erik Wiegand plans to take all items to Fairbury this Thursday, July 29. Please have donated items to him by noon Thursday. Thanks again for your support of Gateway Woods.
Our prayers are with the Chang and Miller family in the loss of Sandy Chang. Sandy was the daughter of Bro. Jake and Sis. Marion Miller who were from Congerville.
2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
