THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
This Wednesday evening we plan to have Bro. Tim and Sis. Barb Slagel come and share with us about HarvestCall winter rebuilding stories of faith. This will be at the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 and everyone is welcome.
LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
A pair of prescription glasses were found in the west parking lot toward the south side Wednesday evening. They will be placed at the message center.
The Centre Lumiere close out sale was a great success! The planning team, and Olga and Caleb would like to extend a huge thank you to all who participated. Your generosity was evident, and the outcome exceeded all our expectations!
Someone left a bag with items they had purchased at the Centre Lumiere sale. If you know whose it is, please contact Sis. Pam Wiegand.
It's time to sign up for rotating potluck for 2024. If you would like to participate, the sign-up sheets are at the message center. If you have any questions, please see Sis. Joni Zacha or Sis. Susie Blunier.
The K-4 Active kids will be packing Operation Christmas Child boxes on November 15.
If your child wants to put together a box, please let Sis. Cassie Knepp know so we are sure to have enough boxes for each child. There is a paper with additional information that you can pick up at the message center or you can click on the link at the bottom of this email.
Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on a Sunday this year. After discussing this with the ministers and their wives, the ministry stewards, and hearing what some of the other Apostolic churches are doing, we have decided on this format for these two Sundays.
Christmas Eve will be a regular morning service with Sunday School followed by a 15-minute break to collect children from Sunday School and then a 30-minute Goodfield family Christmas Carol singing. We would dismiss for the day at around 11:40 with no lunch.
We will have our traditional Christmas morning service on Christmas Monday as usual.
New Year’s Eve will be a regular Sunday format with morning service, lunch, and afternoon service. However, the afternoon service will be a New Year’s Eve service. We will not have the evening service this year.
Our goal is to provide ample time to worship God together as a church family and also be conscious of the stresses on young families and those that need to travel on these holiday weekends.
Please use this new link to sign up to help paint the mural in the Sunday School hallway. Anyone who can color inside the lines is welcome to sign up to help. Click here to view an updated slideshow of the progress on the Sunday school creation mural. We are asking for high school ages and older to help with the painting of the creation mural down in the church basement. We will have 3 or 4 people at a time and add more time slots as we progress so check back often. Contact Sis. Dawn Maloney with any questions.
NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Registration for the 2023 Apologetics Conference on Saturday, November 11 in Indianapolis is now open to all interested attendees. Registration is required and will close on November 1. The purpose of the conference is to raise awareness of what apologetics is, why it matters, and provide entryways into major apologetic questions. This year's theme is: Does God Matter?
While "Does God exist?" may be one of mankind’s most fundamental questions, our increasingly secular society seems to be asking a different question: "Does it even matter?" Join us at the 2023 Apologetics Conference as we discuss how to respond to atheism and apathy.
